Week 15 - Final Week


Okay. It's been a minute.

Nothing bad happened, just been busy with family stuff and the holidays. Got to visit a friend and take a much needed moment to slow down. In any case, we have work to do. I should have more time over next week. Going to be doing more promotion and kicking this out the door. We release and post the final devlog January 2nd. 

I know you are supposed to stand up for your creations, but I'm not satisfied where this is ending. Four months is quite some time for a small project, and yet I feel like I've made little concrete progress. I have Dialogic set up, a quest system I spent two weeks on and am barely using, a terrain system that's good but took too long to make, and a decent but bloated character controller. I'm a hobbyist, I don't expect financial success (anymore), but I would like to have more than none views on my stuff. This did definitely start overscoped, but that's because I way overestimated my time and skills. 

The big final to do list:

  • Fix the save bug
  • Make a new map, 100 units square, and actually fill it
  • Some ambient sound effects, no music.
  • A title screen
  • Promotion every day of the week until launch.
